Southern Utah Prepares for St. George Parade of Homes 2018

We’re once again approaching the St. George Parade of Homes a.k.a the grand tour of all the newest and best homes recently built. It allows builders and home owners a chance to show off their creations to the general public, while helping to introduce people to new builders, styles, and the latest trends (and sell a few homes).

This year the Parade of Homes will take place between Feb. 16 – 25, 2018. The official Parade of Homes website notes that there are 28 new homes this year.

The Parade is open from 10 am – 7 pm daily and Parade sites are located through Washington County.

According to a report by ERA Brokers Consolidated from Nov. 2016-Nov.2017 (read here) the median home price in Washington County has increased by 12% year-over-year, with the inventory of homes falling by 18.8%. This means home prices are rising at around 1% per month, while the inventory of homes is now about to dip below a three month supply. This potential shortage should continue to exert upward pressure on home prices for 2018. Read our recent report on the Southern Utah market.

The Parade of Homes should be an excellent one this year as the southern Utah market is recovering and is nearing the pre-recession highs. Financing remains fairly cheap and as more people build custom homes the level of finish and detail should amaze us again this year.

Tickets for the Parade of Homes are $15 per person and can be bought at https://paradehomes.com/
